Chassis No 00SB6830
Rare one owner from new
For Citroën, the SM is special, and its originality remains of great interest.
Combining a sporting style with the manufacturer's avant-garde technology, it offered handling that did not sacrifice comfort. With a 170 bhp V6 engine, designed by Maserati, it was capable of travelling safely at speeds of up to 170 km/h.
What makes this SM on offer exceptional is that it has had one owner from new, and is being sold by the original owner's brother. It was sold new, by Citroën in Valence, Drôme, in January 1972. It has been driven very little, and has covered just 27,000 km.
To maintain the car in good and safe condition, some work was carried out in 1982: the brake pads and universal joints were replaced, the air conditioning was serviced and it was given new tyres. Since then, the car has hardly turned a wheel.
Before being put on the road recently, the battery was changed, as well as the plugs and alternator. The paintwork was also refreshed. In superb original condition, with brown leather upholstery and metallic grey paintwork.
This SM offers a rare opportunity to slide into the plush interior of a car that has barely been used by its sole owner
